Group sets fest for Valley youth

YOUTH FUN DAY: Pride and Joy Today LLC will present The Stop Gun Violence Youth Fun Day 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Warren Family Mission, 155 Tod Ave., Warren. The day will include food, music, bounce house and games. There will be a 3-on-3 shootout contest.

KIDSFEST: A free Kidsfest program will be noon to 4 p.m. Saturday at Courthouse Square, Warren. The event will include a bounce house, rides, games, music and food.

NILES OPEN HOUSE: The Niles Historical Society will hold an open house 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Ward Thomas House Museum, 503 Brown St. The last tour is at 4 p.m.

NEIGHBORHOOD MEETING: The Northwest Neighborhood Association monthly meeting will be held 6:30 p.m. Monday at Grace United Methodist Church on Drexel Avenue NW, Warren.

Law Director Enzo Cantalamessa is guest speaker, and the association will collect socks for the Warren Family Mission

WEEKEND PICNIC: The Liberty Masonic Complex picnic will be held 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday at the Mohn Pavilion at the complex grounds off Shannon Road. The event is for family and friends of the Masonic groups that meet regularly at the complex. Guests are to bring a casserole to share.

VENDORS MARKET: The Vendors Market, a monthly shopping extravaganza in Warren, will launch Saturday in Howland.

Hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. the first Saturday of each month at First Baptist Church of Howland, 8957 E. Market St., Howland. Admission is free.

BRISTOL LIBRARY: A blowout DVD sale is happening at the Bristol Public Library, 1855 Greenville Road, Bristolville. All DVDs are available for $1 each and are located in the foyer of the library.

The sale is part of The Friends of the Library’s ongoing sale. Proceeds are put back into the library in the form of programming.

The Concert on the Lawn 4 p.m. Aug. 20 will feature True Country.

SCRABBLE CLUB: McKinley Memorial Library will host a Scrabble Club 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, and continuing the second Wednesday of every month. Gameboards and tiles will be provided. Staff will be available to answer questions but will not be participating.

D-DAY RE-ENACTMENT: The annual D-Day Re-enactment on the beach in Conneaut is set for Aug. 18. Transportation for veterans and a guest will be provided by Mahoning County Veterans Service Commission. You will also receive a box lunch and cold refreshments.
